Application Guidelines

Admissions to the Académie Charpentier are handled outside of Parcoursup, based on the application materials; there is no application fee.

Prerequisites for the first year: 

– Have a high school diploma or equivalent.

– demonstrate a Interest in artistic practice and expression, as demonstrated in your resume and cover letter; You are welcome to submit your portfolio and request an interview. 

Prerequisites Starting in the 2nd year:

- Once you have submitted your complete application, you will be invited to an interview to determine your level (the year you will enter our school: 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year). To enter the 4th year, you must have completed a bachelor’s degree.

Resume

Describe your educational background and, if applicable, your experiences (internships, jobs, projects, activities), as well as your skills and interests.

Cover Letter

Please describe your interest in design and/or interior architecture, the aspects of your background that have shaped your approach, and your motivations for joining the Académie Charpentier.

Portfolio

  • Freshman Year / Preparatory Program: Optional. If you have one, it will help us better understand your artistic sensibility, creativity, and personal perspective.
  • Years 2 / 3 / 4:
    *A portfolio is required to verify foundational knowledge in interior architecture (projects, drawing, understanding of space, and project approach).

Transcripts and diploma(s)

Years 2, 3, and 4:*Transcripts and, if applicable, diplomas from previous programs related to interior design or related disciplines are required.

After reviewing your application and if it is deemed eligible,

  • For applicants seeking admission to the 1st year,
    • A decision on admission may be made directly
    • or you may be offered a one-on-one interview.
  • Applicants seeking admission to the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year must appear before an equivalency committee, preferably in person (or remotely if necessary).

Application deadline: July 15, 2026

Admission decision: announced within one week, following a review of the application or, if applicable, after an individual interview.
