Internships
Internships are an integral part of the curriculum. They are governed by an agreement between the school and the company.
They reflect periods of study and experimentation.
An initial 1- to 2-month introductory internship in interior design must be completed at the end of the second year.
A mandatory 6-month internship in interior design takes place during the second semester of the 4th year. It is supervised by a faculty member, who provides guidance on the resume, portfolio, and internship search.
The main objective of this period is to ensure that the professional and technical skills acquired during the graduate program are alignedwith industry standards. It also aims to facilitate students’ transition into the workforce, often leading to their first job.
The internship and the accompanying report constitute one of the competency modules that must be successfully completed in order to obtain the interior designer certification issued by the Académie Charpentier.
